I’d like to welcome our families back to school for term two. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your children and I’ve heard about some of the amazing places you visited! Being able to visit different places, even locally, is of huge benefit to the oral language development of our students. To be able to ride on a boat, or swim at the beach, instead of just reading about it or seeing the experience on television, has a positive influence on all children’s development – which is another reason why we take the students on excursions too.
The school value that is our focus for this term is Achievement. – Students and staff are constant learners, continually seeking new knowledge and skills, celebrating and sharing our learning achievements with parents and the community.
This is particularly relevant this term with NAPLAN being held on May 15, 16 and 17 for students in Years 3 and 5 and parent teacher interviews towards the end of the term, which is a celebration of the learning of your child/children during first semester. Notices will be coming home later in the term for you to choose a time to meet your child’s teacher/teachers.
